Library Symposium, 2015




 Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment is pleased to host a two-day  Library Symposium on 24 - 25th, December, 2015, at Lamai Geompa, Bumthang.

The overall mission of the symposium is to help improve library development and services and also to strategize in sharing resources within libraries in the country. The two-day symposium includes training sessions on library resources, systems and best practices, and will offer participants an opportunity to build professional networks with other library workers.

Accordingly, we would like to invite interested librarians within the nations to attend the symposium.

Participants will be provided working lunch, tea and snacks twice in day and an accommodation facilities at the Institute.However, the travel and daily allowance must be incurred by the parent organization of each participant.

Conduit for Sharing Knowledge

OpenGLAM is an initiative that  is dedicated to sharing knowledge and aims to build a global cultural commons for the world to use. Coordinated by the Open Knowledge Foundation, OpenGLAM works with cultural institutions such as galleries, libraries, archives and museums to open up their content and data  to the world through hands-on workshops, documentation and guidance.
